Voter Registration Change Of Address Form For The 911 Readdressing Project
911 Readdressing Questionnaire Online Form

About 911 Readdressing:

In 1990, Pennsylvania passed the Public Safety Emergency Telephone Act of 1990, commonly referred to as Act 78. The legislation provided for a statewide emergency number, 911 , for "…any individual within this Commonwealth to gain rapid, direct access to emergency aid…"

In order to comply with Federal and State agencies, all information needs to be in a useable format. Phone numbers are already standardized. The purpose of the 911 readdressing is to provide addresses in a uniform format that allows the 911 directors, dispatchers and local government officials to communicate with the public during a 911 call and pinpoint the exact location of the call for the emergency personnel.

In December 2001 the Bradford County Commissioners adopted "The Bradford County Street naming and Addressing Policy". This policy was adopted in order to establish a uniform, countywide street/road naming and addressing system to meet the requirements of the enhanced 911 emergency communications system. In May of 2006 the county contracted to MSAG Data Consultants of Virginia to implement this new policy. Since its beginning the project has incurred numerous setbacks. In 2008 the new board of County Commissioners renegotiated the contract with MSAG Data Consultants. This allowed the County and the contractor a better understanding of the current project. It also established the process by which they would proceed with new deadlines, as well as a new payment schedule based on the completed parts of the project to ensure all deadlines for the project completion are met. The information provided here is intended to let you, the public, know the status of the project on a regular basis.

911 Recent Updates

Bradford County would like to announce that the next region of the countywide readdressing project began on June 25th 2010. All addresses for Region 1 and 2 have been delivered. Regions 4 and 5 addresses have been submitted to the Post Office for approval.

Region 3, consisting of Asylum Township, Terry Township, Tuscarora Township, Wilmot Township, Wyalusing Borough and Wyalusing Township are scheduled for delivery of new 911 addresses between June 25 and July 2, 2010. The addresses have been approved by the United States Postal Service. Letters will be delivered to each addressable structure in Region 3. Accompanying the addressing letter will be a letter from the Post Office verifying that this process is approved by them and will give some additional information concerning changing your address.

The addressing questionnaire delivery phase of this project is complete. Although the response rate for the first few regions has been encouraging, it is still extremely important for the residents in the remaining regions to return their questionnaires as soon as possible. All residents can mail the questionnaires back or use the web version of the form here: 911 Readdressing Questionnaire Online Form.
