Erosion & Sedimentation Control
The purpose of this program is to control erosion and sedimentation from construction sites through the implementation of appropriate best management practices. District is responsible for technical plan review, permitting assistance, site inspection and compliance through a delegation agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP).

Streams & Wetlands Regulations & Permitting
Through this PA DEP program, the District offers technical assistance, permit processing, site inspection and complaint handling services in an effort to better protect our local waterways.

Dirt & Gravel Roads
The Conservation District offers technical and financial assistance to our local municipalities. This program addresses pre-selected local road segments by installing best management practices that address the environmental pollution potential present at each identified site.

Floodplains
With dramatically changing weather conditions and more severe flooding, we offer information to the general public on the importance of floodplains. The Conservation District also works with the local municipalities to assist them in understanding, updating, and enforcing their floodplain ordinances to best protect individual’s private property, their families, and the safety of the general public.

Storm-water
The District works closely with its partner agencies in offering informational, educational and technical assistance in managing storm-water impacts on construction sites, crop fields and communities.

Watersheds
Many locals have banned together to address common environmental concerns by forming watershed organizations/associations. These groups are supported by the Conservation District through assistance in general group organization; writing bylaws; IRS filing status; public outreach; and grant searching, writing and administration.

Stream Technical Assistance
Our staff works with individuals and groups to address streams instabilities though technical assistance, survey, design, permitting, and construction of stream rehabilitation projects. These projects reduce sediment inputs and create aquatic and terrestrial habitat while protecting the landowner’s property.
