History
Bradford County is rich in history as evidenced by the number of museums and historical societies chronicling the county’s heritage as a summer retreat for nationally known actors, high-ranking politicians, wealthy business owners, circus performers and as the home of Stephen Foster, the “father of American music,” who wrote “Camptown Races” about the famous Bradford County horse race. Other historical sites to check out in Bradford County include Marie Antoinette Lookout, Keystone Theatre, the Farm Museum, Wyalusing Rocks, Knapp’s Covered Bridge and Underground Railroad sites.
