Department Description

The Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts Office is the record keeper for the Court of Common Pleas. The Clerk of Courts office is responsible for maintaining criminal and juvenile court records.

Clerk of Courts and Prothonotary

  • Dawn Close

    Dawn Close, newly elected Prothonotary/Clerk of Courts for 2016, began her career with Bradford County in February of 1989 as a File Clerk in the Prothontary’s office. Through hard work and dedication, she was promoted to the Judgement Desk and from there to Chief Deputy Prothonotary. She graduated from Rush/Henrietta School District in the State of New York with a Regents Diploma in Business. She is an active member of the Bradford County Republican Women, Bradford County Republican Committee and State Association of Prothonotaries/Clerk of Courts. Dawn resides in Rome Borough with her husband, Rick. They have two grown children and one grandson, Mason.
