About the Department

Bradford County Victim Services seeks to empower all victims of crime with knowledge and a voice in the system. In an effort to make a victims’ experience less stressful, victim services strives to keep victims informed through every step of the criminal justice process.

Department Services

Victims are identified in each case that is bound over to the Court of Common Pleas from the district justice offices. Juvenile charging sheets are reviewed for the same purpose. Victims are kept informed as to the status of the case in which they are involved, to the extent they request. Victims are assisted with navigating through the criminal justice system and juvenile justice system. Victims are afforded the opportunity to make oral victim impact statements at sentencing proceedings, or simply observe court in session.

  • Court accompaniment
  • Courtroom orientation
  • Court tours for the children
  • Preparation for court testimony
  • Supportive counseling and notifications during the criminal process
  • Assistance with victim impact statements, claims for restitution, and filing for the victim compensation assistance program and enrollment in the inmate status notification program.
